Ready to read Dr. Preston

Im Jesus Juarez and im going to talk about how these past couple of months have been in Dr.Preston’s class. When i came into this class for the first time I wasn’t the best student I was lazy and really bad at doing my homework school really didn’t mean anything to me but then Dr.Preston walked out and told us to decide on how we were gonna run the class i was pretty confused first but as time passed i learned that this isn’t like a normal class.

  This class has actually helped me with being more responsible and also to work better with computers something i also learned is that school doesnt have to be boring learning can be fun at times. I like how we get to create our own blog for people to see we can share our stories and ideas from wherever we are at first it was a little challenging because of the videos we had to post but i got used to it the blogs have taught me to not leave everything for last minute because i just give myself more work.

 This semester I did struggle alot with being late and absent and because of that i missed alot of work but these last few weeks I’ve been getting better at being on time to class and it honestly feels good and isn’t that hard all i had to change was the time i slept at I started sleeping earlier and I was able to wake up early the next morning and I was also able to make up most of my work i went to class when  we had tests and when we had our interviews.

 We also read stories about people also about beliefs i found “The Earth on the Turtles Back” a very interesting story it was fun to read and I wasn’t bored by it either i also liked the message it gave about how it doesn’t matter how you look you are able to do a lot. “The pedestrian” was also an interesting story about how police can judge people without knowing what is really happening.

 Some strategies i used for my blogs were pretending i was talking to a friend and I was telling him a story i also liked doing my blogs at home rather then in class I would go in my room lay on my bed put some music and write my blogs.With my journals it was different i missed alot of them but i do have some good ones like the interview who ever you want one.

 When Dr.preston told us that we were going to be having an interview at first I was a little scared and lost but then i read the instructions and with some help from pablo I was able to get all the paperwork done and when the day came of my interview I was nervous first but when i shook Dr.Prestons hand I calmed down and it was easier then I thought and it was actually pretty fun I would do it again plus I learned some skills on how to do it better next time.

I feel like i inspire my little brothers in how they behave and how they act.

Something that i can think about throughout my day and will make me feel better is how he ssid being misunderstood isnt bad that it can be good sometimes i feel like i am misunderstood by a lot of poeople but now that i know its not bad i feel better about it

What would you do if you are outside just enjoying your daily walk and all of a sudden the cops pull you over just for walking .Well this is what happened to Ray BradBury and he wrote a story to talk and express how he felt during the situation

In the story Ray describes the day as calm and chilly ice in the grass a foggy November day Ray was walking around the neighbourhood as he usually did when all of a sudden he sees lights behind him he turns around and sees the cop he starts asking him questions and starts talking to him like if he had commited a crime Ray felt harrased he felt like he was stopped unfairly. Also in the story Ray gets taken away by the cop but in real life that part really doesnt happen.

There has been time where i feel like Ray I feel harrased or mad because teachers tell me stuff but i dont even do anything even my mom gets mad at me sometimes when i havent done anything. So I understand how Ray felt when this happened to me.

Story of my life

something from my weekend that can be turned into a short story is my game i had we played in L.A round of 32 when the game started they scored first then i scored it was 1-1 then we scored again we were winning 2-1 but they catched up and started beating us 2-3 but then in a corner kick the ball was crossed in and i hit a volley and scored it was 3-3 the 90 minutes ended but a team had a win so we played two halfs of ten minutes we scored in the first half of those 20 minutes and won. Now we move on to the round of 16

So this guy goes for a walk

The tone of this story is mad and frustrated The main character goes for walks he seems nice and calm but in one of his walks he gets stopped by the cops because it was "suspitios" for them seeing taking a walk so late. So he takes his frustration and writes this story

Some ways to have a good conversation online is to no be boring or "dry" as people say be entertaing and funny also be kind and polite. These are some ways to have a good conversation online.

Somethings i learned today is that something as small as a meme can start a whole conversation thats why its important to know what words mean so we wont be lost when conversations like this come up.

The value of time

Something that i know is gonna help me in the future is staying away from drugs and alcohol i wont end up getting addicted and its also gonna benifit my performance when i play something else that can help me is the amount of time i spend practicing cause its gonna make me better then my competition and is gonna make me more noticable.

These stories are diffrent from eachother Hawthornes story is about a bad dream like a nightmare and the story a dream within  a dream  talks about a good dream a dream where everything is good with no worries

Investing in me

Some ways I can get money is by working during summer and breaks maybe get a job for the weekends or help at school also by saving the money i get and putting it in a bank account or in a safe place where i wont be tempted to touch  it.

This poem  is intresting it made me think about my dreams and if they mean something it also made me think about the bad dreams and if those mean anything

My thesis statement

Howthorne uses alot of strategies to give his message to the readers. Some of his messages are easy to understand others make you think more. Two ways Howthorne does this is with characterization and symbolism examples of this is how he named good man browns wife faith. Also how he uses the pink bow to represent faith he also shows the bow fade as the story goes on and his life gets harder and also the staff.

Reading a book when the author is in the room is way diffrent then just reading a book because you might read the book and think its talking about something way diffrent from the message the author wants to send. But with the author in the same room you can read with him ask questions and get to know him and the book better.

1)I think hawthornes reason behind writing this story was to show the reader how wierd life can be and how fast it can change.

This story is about people and their imaginations it talks about how some people have bigger imaginations then others. Like in the story the characters day went from good to horrible because of his imagination he was having a good day till he imagined being alone and in the woods. This happens to me sometimes i start imaging things that get me sad or scared.

The medium is the message

In my opinion the way you communicate with someone is very important if its something serious it should be face to face but if its to communicate with a friend it can be through call or message if its for a job or for something profesional people normally send emails.

How I Read

For me reading isnt something i just do its hard for me to read not because i cant read but because i find it boring and not fun its also hard for me to sit down and read i get distracted too easily i feel like that is why school is so difficult for me too because i cant sit down for 8 hours withought getting distracted or bored. There was a book that i actually finished once though it was in junior high the book was called runaway it was about a orphan girl who would go to foster homes but she would get mistreated so one day she decides to run away I would take that book with me everywhere and i actually finished it.

This article talks about how people remember diffrent things or certain things like birthdays or special days. For me I find it kinda wierd because i remember big days like games i had or birthdays but sometimes im just laying in bed and remember something small from a long time ago and i find it wierd.Other times i remember things from when i was very small

My first impression on self reliance is that its okay to think the way i do and that not caring what people say or think about me makes me a genius after listening to this i feel better about the way i think

The medium is the message

i think talking in person is better then talking in text because in person you see the persons face expression there tone on how they talk their body language everything. And in text you cant all you see is words on a screen and you cant see how the person is acting.

I aint got time for this

What i do everyday is I wake up go to school for eight hours get out at 2:55 get home try to do some home work then on monday's,Wednesday's and Friday's at 4:30 I walk to Atkinson park for my sunday league team practice America.Practice is from 5 to 7 I get home shower eat something then sometimes do my homework but other times im too tired and just sleep.On Tuesdays and Thursday's its the same thing but only that instead of Atkinson I walk to liberty for my club team crusaders. This schedule helps me alot in my dream because im constantly practicing but also helps me in school to keep my grades up.

The Earth on the turtles back

I liked this story because it had a good message and also because it wasnt boring the animals talking and the turtle putting earth on its back is funny and entertaining. I also liked it because it gives an idea of how earth was made.

Today I was thinking

Today Dr.Preston talked about having an agenda and it seems like a good idea so people know what to do everyday. I like the idea of tech tuesday because we learn new stuff about technology witch is important especially now with how important technology.I also liked cake wednesday because we get to bring food.

I care about your understanding

I want to be understood by my mom sometimes shes always telling me to clean and do chores or do this and that but all I want to do is go out and kick a ball I can have a ball at my feet and never get bored and my mom sees that but some times she makes me do stuff and doesnt let me go out and play. I want her to understand that when i go play i forget everything soccer is like my happy place and I feel like sometimes she doesnt understand that.

The first 50 pages

Honestly i havent read any 50 pages I havent even touched a book.

Making of an essay

Essays frustrate me the highest grade i have gotten on an essay has been a 75 or a C. There's been times where I have thought i got a good grade and wrote a good essay but i end up getting an okay essay with a decent score witch frustrates me.

This class is diffrent from all my other classes in this class we create a blog and post about different topics or we post our thoughts we have to do this by our selfs because the teacher doesnt give us instructions he trusts us to do our work without him telling us.

Thinking about what i want to think about

One of the questions i had was who chose animal names and after looking at articles about it, I learned that scientist that discover the animal get to name it and that most animals have two names a scientific name and a name that is easy to pronounce and say.

The authors use of diction,syntax and tone is used to get the attention of both adults and teens at first he talks to the teenagers then his tone gets more serious and starts talking to the adults then he uses syntax to mimic adults an example of this is his use of the phrase "these damn kids"

Getting to know you

The people you surround yourself with is important because they either make your day better or make it worse. You should surround yourself by people who help you both physically and mentally so you become a better person and so they make your day easier.

Conscience of a hacker

At first i thought the writer was gonna talk bad about hackers but as the story went on i saw that he was defending them and takimg their side and what he was saying was true theres other people who kill and commit bigger crimes but hackers witch use their power to help are criminals.

Today i asked a question

I liked today because of the question we asked witch was "who made the alphabet and how did they decide the letters and sounds of each letter" I like these questions because they make you think. I have asked myself these types of questions before like who came up with animal names and how did they decide what to name them or who decided on how we were gonna speak languages.

Are you entitled to an opinion ?

In my opinion you are entitled to your opinion because diffrent people have diffrent ways of viewing stuff people like diffrent things so its normal to have diffrent opinions but we shouldnt use the phrase "you are entitled to your own opinion" to get away from conversations.

The socratic method is good because it makes students comftorable with eachother and it also allows us to ask for help when we dont get something.

After reading this article i learned that some times having the right to your opinion can be bad sometimes because you can be going around thinking things that are wrong with no one to stop you or telling you otherwise also most people that use the phrase 'right to my own opinon' just dont know what to say anymore.
